About Dr. Lori Brotto:

Dr. Lori Brotto is a Professor in the UBC Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a Registered Psychologist in Vancouver, Canada.  She has been the Executive Director of the Women’s Health Research Institute of BC located at BC Women’s Hospital since 2016.  Dr. Brotto holds a Canada Research Chair in Women’s Sexual Health.  She is the author of Better Sex Through Mindfulness: How Women Can Cultivate Desire and The Better Sex Through Mindfulness Workbook (October 2022).

Audience and Level of Instruction:

This webinar is tailored for practicing mental health practitioners and will include advanced content taught at the post-doctoral level.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation, the learner will be able to:

  1. Apply the science of mindfulness-based therapy in the treatment of low desire for women
  2. Describe the psychoeducational content essential for managing low sexual desire
  3. Discuss the mechanisms by which mindfulness and psychoeducation improve low sexual desire in women
  4. Utilize the contents of an 8-session mindfulness-based therapy for women with low desire and an 8-session supportive-expressive psychoeducational group therapy for low desire

Continuing Education Information:

This Program is elligible for eligible for three AASECT and/or APA CE units.

The Olsen Institute is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The Olsen Institute maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 4 CE credits.
